Better Regulation is the Key

Does It Cure Symptoms or Conditions?

It is a matter of getting the brain to function better, rather than curing the condition. We show you your brain activity and we help you to change it by rewarding shifts towards a more appropriate and stable brain state. It is a gradual learning process.
Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. When it comes to problems of dysregulation, we would say that there is not a disease to be cured, and self-regulation may very well be a complete remedy.
We target bioelectrical functioning of the brain, which is actually a more important issue than “chemical imbalances,” or medicalized labels for behavioural issues that may in fact be symptoms of dysregulation.

How Long
Does it Take?

Each brain-training neurofeedback session lasts ½ hour, plus time to attach and remove the electrodes, for a total of approximately 50 minutes per session.
Growing new neural networks takes time—20 twice-weekly ½-hour neurofeedback sessions. The brain needs a minimum of two sessions weekly to maintain gains from session to session while it creates permanent, new synaptic connections.
Just like working out at a physical gym, your brain needs to train at least twice a week with neurofeedback.
The feedback (sounds, video game, movie) rewards the brain for having activity in areas we want to promote and is not rewarded for having activity in other areas that we want to diminish.

How Much
Does It Cost?

Neurofeedback is a re-wiring of the brain that takes repeated interventions over time—a minimum of 20 ½-hour sessions conducted twice weekly. Severe disregulation, such as that of residential school survivors, war veterans, survivors of intergenerational trauma, and people with traumatic brain injuries, may require additional 20-session blocks in order for the brain to completely resolve disregulation issues.
For this reason, and for this treatment to be truly effective, neurofeedback is offered as a package-based service of 20-session blocks.
The treatment program costs $3,500 (GST exempt) per 20-session block. The 20-session package includes an initial assessment and testing @$350, and 20 sessions of neurofeedback plus final re-assessment @$160 each. There is a 10% discount for full payment in advance ($3,150).

Initial assessment (2- 2 ½ hrs): $350
Includes consultation, baseline standardized test of attention, and neurofeedback session

20 sessions @ $160 per session: $3,200

Re-assessment: $160
Consultation and standardized attention retest

Total: $3,500
(GST exempt)

Total Cost of 20-Session Block: $3,500
Payment in full, 10% Discount: $3,150
